Restoration

At Studio51 we specialise in restoration of old, damaged and low quality recordings. We take on any kind of audio restoration though voice restoration is always a highlight.

We will use any and all processes, from cutting edge noise profile generation and suppression, to manual analysis and removal of unwanted artefacts. While some restorers will leave it all up to software suites to do the work for them, this NEVER gets the best results. We always start with manual editing and processing where possible. Several passes will be made, editing each time in progressively finer detail, then we can look towards machine learning. This allows for more precise placement and application of each individual edit and process.

Custom compression and eq curves are developed and applied dynamically to best suit the audio during every moment of the track. Using this moment-by-moment approach allows us only process and affect what is necessary, in turn keeping unwanted artefacts to a minimum. If there is usable audio there, we will always do our best to find it.
