Voiceover
The voiceover setup at Studio 51 was designed from the ground up (literally) to capture the cleanest and clearest vocals.
The room itself is approximately 8 square metres with a relatively low ceiling. The walls and ceiling are covered in multi-directional absorption panels mounted on extra-thick acoustic board, itself suspended in front of a further 100mm of acoustic insulation. It’s a very dead-sounding space, ideal for picking up the idiosyncrasies and nuances of a vocal performance, be it sung or spoken.
There are various microphones available to suit different voices, styles and applications, and the vocal artist has control over their own monitor and talkback mix.
The room layout can be set up according the client’s needs; standing to sing, sitting at a desk to read, even sitting in an armchair, all options are catered for.
